Business coaching is a self-regulated industry. WABC is committed to setting the highest international standards of ethics, integrity and professional responsibility for members by engaging in self-regulatory activities that build and maintain public trust. Many activities are completed or under development and include, but are not limited to:
- rigorous membership standards
- credential verification process
- professional standards
- a Code of Business Coaching Ethics and Integrity
- a body of knowledge about business coaching, including a definition and competencies
- an independent international certification program for business coaches (CMBC)
- an independent international accreditation program for business coach training providers (WABC Accredited)
- professional development through events, education and training
