Registered Corporate Coach (RCC)

Program overview
WABC’s Registered Corporate Coach (RCC) designation is typically for individuals who are newer to business coaching. It’s ideal for those who want to learn the fundamental and advanced skills needed to coach effectively in businesses and organizations.

Since 2000, the RCC designation has been attained by hundreds of professionals around the world who have sought to rapidly learn and integrate principles, skills and techniques so they can coach effectively in businesses and organizations. Programs are offered throughout the year by RCC Instructors in various locations.

Registered Corporate Coaches are trained in both internal and external coaching. As internal coaches they work with executives and managers, both individually and in groups, to strengthen the organization’s corporate culture. As external coaches they work with business professionals at all levels to achieve personal and professional success.

Who benefits
You’re an ideal candidate for the RCC if you have significant business or professional experience, and if you can work independently, grasp complicated concepts easily and draw on personal experiences to deliver practical applications. Typically, participants are:

  • External or internal coaches who work with businesses
  • Internal employees and professionals interested in performance coaching
  • Individuals with work experience in coaching, consulting, managing or training
  • Specialists in human dynamics such as therapists, life coaches, human resource professionals and organizational development consultants

Eligibility requirements
You must pass a screening interview and meet minimum qualification standards for WABC membership. You must be a WABC member for one year to obtain the RCC designation.

  • 50 hours of instruction, preparation and coaching practice

  • 3 hours of private coaching sessions with your RCC Instructor
  • One-year WABC Affiliate membership*

*For an additional fee, Full Membership is available to those with a minimum of three years of business coaching experience.

  • Proficiency using storyboarding techniques, the Career Projection© exercise and the TruthTalk Thought Tracking System© in coaching
  • WABC Registered Corporate Coach (RCC) designation and numbered certificate

How to register and obtain the RCC 
The RCC designation is granted by WABC. To obtain the designation, you must be a WABC member in good standing and successfully complete an approved RCC program. The steps are as follows:

  1. Pass a screening interview with the RCC Instructor (see dates, locations and instructors below). You’ll need to meet these minimum WABC qualification standards:

    • Be making a transition to, or in the early years of, a business coaching practice as either an external or internal coach

    • Have at least 7 years of business or organizational experience (includes coaching and non-coaching work in the private, public and nonprofit sectors) 

  2. Submit the RCC program registration form and full payment to your RCC Instructor before the program begins. Payment includes a one-year WABC Affiliate Membership. If you have a minimum of three years' business coaching experience, you can apply for WABC Full Membership, our highest level of individual membership, for an additional fee.  

  3. Successfully complete all RCC program requirements within six months of the course start date. 

  4. Receive the RCC designation and certificate from WABC.

Want an on-site program?
Organizations seeking to credential more than one RCC candidate should consider an on-site training program. The program can be provided by any of our RCC Instructors and is tailored to internal coaches working with corporations or executives. It addresses how to use coaching to handle the most common issues faced by corporate employees, managers and executives. Contact any of our Instructors below to discuss your needs.
