Benefits
If you train business coaches, there are five reasons why you should become WABC Accredited.
1. Position Yourself in the Field
WABC Accredited is the first international designation developed exclusively for business coach training programs. This specialized designation will set your program apart from the many that recognize coach training in general. Your curriculum will be measured against WABC’s detailed standards for business coaches and for training them.
2. Gain Independent, Professional Recognition Your program will be thoroughly evaluated by independent, professional assessors. They apply the same rigorous standards to all training providers and programs, regardless of size, location or reputation.

4. Enhance Your Training Program Applying for WABC Accredited is a learning experience that involves real dialogue with experienced assessors. Their feedback can help you fine-tune your business coach training.
5. Prepare Your Graduates for WABC Credentials
Graduates of your WABC Accredited program are eligible to apply for a fully certified WABC credential (see “Levels” below for details). WABC’s certified credentials are open only to graduates of WABC Accredited programs.
Levels
WABC Accredited is awarded at three levels: Practitioner, Master and Chartered. Only Practitioner Level and Master Level are currently open for application. All three levels warrant that the accredited training program has met or exceeded WABC’s strict international standards and has successfully passed through a rigorous assessment.
WABC Accredited (Practitioner Level) This level is for programs that aim to develop practitioner coaches. Business coaches at this level may be internal coaches who practice within one organization. They may also be external coaches who provide limited services to a narrow client base, usually to a fixed agenda related directly to business outcomes.
Practitioner Level is the first level of WABC accreditation. It is seen as equivalent in level to a post-graduate certificate in business coaching. Graduates of Practitioner Level programs are eligible to apply for the WABC Certified Business Coach (CBC) designation.
WABC Accredited (Master Level) This level is for programs that aim to develop master coaches. Business coaches at this level are typically qualified to provide services across a range of organizations. They are equipped to operate at all levels of an organization and to deal with the ambiguity of an open coaching agenda.
Master Level is the advanced level of WABC accreditation. It is seen as equivalent in level to a master's degree in business coaching. Graduates of Master Level programs are eligible to apply for the WABC Certified Master Business Coach (CMBC) designation.
WABC Accredited (Chartered Level) This level is for programs that aim to develop senior coaches. Business coaches at this level are accountable for critical analysis, diagnosis, design, planning, execution and evaluation. They exercise substantial personal autonomy and show significant influence and leadership within their organization, the profession or academic settings.
Chartered Level is the highest level of WABC accreditation. It is an acknowledgment of the highest level of professional practice. Graduates of Chartered Level programs are eligible to apply for WABC’s Chartered Business Coach (ChBC) designation, the only chartered business coaching designation in the world.
Standards
WABC Accredited is a rigorous designation based on defined standards. Some highlights follow.
Evidence-Based Designation
WABC Accredited is the product of years of development, evidence gathering and other research. The process included creating a definition of business coaching and identifying the competencies of real-life business coaches. It also included collaborating with top business coaches, educators and the renowned Professional Development Foundation (PDF) in the United Kingdom. The WABC Accredited designation is reviewed annually to ensure that it stays credible, reliable and relevant.
Independent, Professional Assessment
Assessments and award decisions must be fair, transparent and independent. WABC has therefore contracted PDF to conduct the entire assessment and award panel process, including selecting the individuals involved. WABC officially issues the designation, but in doing so abides by the recommendations of the award panel.
Re-Accreditation
WABC Accredited training providers must have their status reviewed and re-assessed. Holders of the designation report every year to confirm that they still meet the required standards. Every five years they submit a detailed report that provides evidence of their compliance. If accepted, this five-year report provides for their re-accreditation.
Eligibility
You can apply for WABC Accredited if you fall into one of these categories:
You are a training provider. You believe your program can meet WABC’s assessment criteria. Your program has run to completion at least once so that feedback from graduates is available.
You are a corporation with an established internal training program. You believe your program can meet WABC’s assessment criteria. Your program has produced graduates so that feedback on the program is available.

Benefits
Why choose a WABC Accredited training program? There are five reasons why these programs are in a class of their own.
1. Training Tailored to Business Coaches
WABC Accredited is the first international designation exclusively for business coach trainers. Each WABC Accredited program is built around a coaching-specific curriculum that’s current, rigorous and based on WABC’s business coaching competencies. The result is a program that delivers the range and depth of training and development that business coaches need. Completing a WABC Accredited program tells your clients and your peers that you’ve gone beyond general coach training to build the specialized competencies and skills of a business coach.
2. Carefully Screened and Monitored Training
WABC Accredited programs are evaluated by highly qualified, independent assessors who apply the same criteria to all programs, regardless of size, location or reputation. WABC Accredited programs must meet strict quality assurance standards for their delivery, assessment and governance, and they must be reviewed and re-accredited regularly. As a result, you can be confident of receiving the best professional development in the industry, delivered through reliable, well-managed programs.
3. Training at the Post-Graduate Level WABC Accredited is the only international designation to recognize business coach training at the post-graduate level. All WABC Accredited programs are academically challenging, taught by faculty with the academic and professional experience necessary to deliver a stimulating, enjoyable learning experience. This superior level of training ensures that your business coach practice is theoretically sound, ethical, sustainable and evidence-based. Simply put, WABC Accredited training is the most advanced business coach training available.
4. Publicly Valued Training
Standards-based designations like WABC Accredited help establish business coaching as a profession worthy of public respect and trust. A WABC Accredited program puts you through a rigorous and transparent assessment process, assuring both you and your clients of your professional competence. With a WABC Accredited program on your résumé, you’ll boost the prestige and professionalism of your practice and advance the credibility of the industry.
5. Training That Leads to WABC Credentials Once you complete a WABC Accredited program, you’ll be eligible to apply for a fully certified business coaching credential from WABC (see “Levels” below for details). Certified credentials, the most rigorous available to professionals, are based on strict guidelines. They require validation, they must be renewed and they can be revoked if warranted. Only graduates of WABC Accredited programs can receive WABC’s certified credentials.
